A sociarchy based on the horror genre and explores the dynamic between the Haunted (the pursued) and the Haunter (the pursuer). This is inspired by misceverse and pastryverse. Some other more specific sociarchies with similar notions include slasherverse and sanguiverse! All interactions are consensual, safe, and rooted in mutual trust.

HAUNTED
The ones who typically carry a high amount of Dread, which attracts Haunters. Can be considered the prey.
HAUNTER
The ones who stalk, watch, protect, or "hunt" the Haunted, and may feed on their Dread. Can be considered the predator.
LURKER
Can both haunt and be haunted, typically carry a low amount of Dread; may have been Haunted that were scorned or cursed.
(e.g. Carrie, Blade, Jennifer from Jennifer's Body)
OUTSIDER
The ones who do not fit into any of the above dynamics. This may be an umbrella term for dynamics outside of the typical three.
This list is non-exhaustive, but may be considered the "typical" subdynamics underneath Haunted and Haunter.
HAUNTER SUBDYNAMICS
SLASHER

(e.g. Hannibal, Leatherface, Michael Myers).
ALIEN
Extraterrestrials; not from this planet.

(e.g. zombies, ghouls, vampires)

(HAUNTER) HYBRID
Anything combining the above subtypes.
HAUNTED SUBDYNAMICS
FINAL PERSON
The survivor; may be defiant and face the Haunter head on.

WITNESS
Has seen something otherwordly and become a messenger, target, or pariah because of it, like a "chosen knower".
(e.g. Ripley, Mulder)
DREAMER
Often unreliable narrators plagued by waking nightmares, personification of fear turned inward.
(e.g. characters from Jacob's Ladder or Silent Hill 2)
(HAUNTED) HYBRID
Anything combining the above subtypes.
Dread is an ambient and emotional force carried by the Haunted which the Haunters feed on. Each type of Dread is represented by the four temperaments.
How Dread affect one's behaviour is performative and doesn't reflect trauma, though how one finds or interprets their Dread is different for each individual!
Sanguine Dread
Evokes emotions like ecstacy and joy.
Might chase the thrill of being watched or hunted, bait or playfully provoke their Haunter.
Choleric Dread
Evokes emotions like fear and anger.
Might be highly reactive, escaping and hiding in performative ways; may actively resist, challenge, or provoke the Haunter.
Phlegmatic Dread
Evokes emotions like calmness and serenity.
Tends towards quiet acceptance, showing little resistance or reaction to the Haunter.
Melancholic Dread
Evokes emotions like sadness and longing.
Passive like Phlegmatic, but with the weight of hopelessness, as if resigned to the Haunter's presence.
Atypical or Xenodread is a Dread type that only be described by something other than emotions (such as time, light, or the colour orange). How this influences one's behaviour is completely up to the individual!
VOCAB
Bleeding or Overflowing is the event in which one's Dread becomes stronger.
Hunger can either be a Haunter's preference or a heightened desire for Dread, similar to heat/rut in Misceverse or starvation in Pastryverse.
Media is when one's horrorverse dynamic is inspired or taken from a specific horror media.
Dreadful Attraction is a fragarian attraction where one desires to be in a relationship with horrorverse dynamics with somebody. It is not romantic in nature, but can be felt alongside romantic attraction.
GROUP DYNAMICS
A group of Haunters may be called a Gang or a Haunting
A group of Haunted may be called a Team or a Drift
PRACTICES
Marking involves the act of claiming or selecting a Haunted (can be ritual, gift, sign, scent).
Scene is the "setting" the Haunted creates to make themselves vulnerable or appealing.
I would prefer that no flags are made during this time until I have created the templates for the current dynamics and dread types.
